Virginia Beach Police Office Arrested and Sentenced to Serve Time for DUI Offense
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) — Virginia Beach Police Officer Allyson Whitfield was sentenced to jail time for a DUI she committed in July.
Her first offense was DWI on July 7, which she was arrested for on July 6.
On November 15, General District Court gave Whitfield a 365-day sentence with 350 days suspended. She is to report to jail on December 7 and for the remainder of her 15-day sentence.
She will be on probation for at least a year while her license will have restricted use to travel to and from the Alcohol Safety Action Program, meetings and for medical appointments. She is also required to have an ignition interlock installed in her car.
Whitfield has been placed on administrative leave but is still employed by the department.
